Fear!
Two interesting things happened today. Well, not just two but there are two that are worth blogging about!
One of the yoga poses that seems the most challenging for me is Chaturanga Dandasana (Low push up).
There’s something physical about the challenge of this pose but it occurred to me today that there’s also something emotional. What am I afraid of? What’s the worst thing that can happen? My arms get tired and I crash out to the floor…nothing of dire consequence!
Also, today I got out on the SUP board in the break but it was rough. Rough enough that I fell off the board which is something I haven’t done in ages. I was telling Nicole, ‘I haven’t fallen off since I first started’. The same questions arose, what am I afraid of? You fall off and you hit the water – and in Goa that water is warm.
Seems I haven’t trusted enough in both these situations to completely let go of fear. Got me reflecting on other situations where fear was the motivator. Time to let go! Who was it that said ‘We should be like little children’? Oh yeah, that’s right, it was Jesus!
I’m looking forward to adventures on the mat and on the board with plenty of falling off and yes, plenty of chaturanga’s! NO FEAR!
